Litany of Humility

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, Hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed,
Deliver me, Jesus.

From the desire of being loved...
From the desire of being extolled ...
From the desire of being honored ...
From the desire of being praised ...
From the desire of being preferred to others...
From the desire of being consulted ...
From the desire of being approved ...
From the fear of being humiliated ...
From the fear of being despised...
From the fear of suffering rebukes ...
From the fear of being calumniated ...
From the fear of being forgotten ...
From the fear of being ridiculed ...
From the fear of being wronged ...
From the fear of being suspected ...

That others may be loved more than I,
Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

That others may be esteemed more than I ...
That, in the opinion of the world,
others may increase and I may decrease ...
That others may be chosen and I set aside ...
That others may be praised and I unnoticed ...
That others may be preferred to me in everything...
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should…

Ghoti

When we were playing "Balderdash" the other day at a friend's house (which I'm REALLY bad at), Holly told me that fish was spelled ghoti. She explained it this way: "gh" as in tough (tuff), "o" as in
"women" (wimen), and "ti" as in "nation" (nashun). I thought it was clever and was wondering if there are any other words that you can spell in that way.

This is kind of a dumb thing to post about, but I needed something to post.

I knew there must be a good reason for it....

This is why homeschoolers are so much smarter than public schoolers. ;-)

Coincidence? I think not.

This evening at Bible study (we're studying Genesis) we talked about how Melchizedek was a prototype of Christ (see Gen. 14:18-24 & Heb. 7). The ironic part of it is that when I got onto the internet this evening one of Catholic Exchange's stories was "Melchizedek: The Ancient High Priest Who Prefigures Jesus".

Joan
You are Joan of Arc! You don't really want to hurt
anyone, but if they attack your friends or your
country and no-one else will stand up to fight
them, you head into the battle. Beware though,
conviction tends to get you killed.

Which Saint Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

Kind of corny, but a fun idea!
Besides, unlike those "how smart are you" quizzes, you'll always be satisfied with your results!

Sing of Mary, pure and lowly, Virgin mother undefiled.
Sing of God's own Son most holy, who became her little child.
Fairest Child of fairest mother, God the Lord who came to earth.
Word made flesh, our very brother, takes our nature by His birth.

Happy Birthday, Mary!!!!
